Do not send parts to Canada by UPS

I ordered a engine gasket set and fuel rails and lines for my car (total of 12 lbs)
This is what it cost.

Parts price listed as $429.48

GST - $21.47
brokerage - $2.71
COD GST/HST 0.21
entry prep fee $48.25
Bond Fee $5.85
CA COD surcharge $4.25

TOTAL $82.74

Note to all venders to please not use UPS if at all possible.
USPS dose not charge us extra for the parts that we order from the states.

Not sure what their issue is up here but UPS isn't on my list either.

They managed to misplace 2 wheels (set of 4) that were shipped at the same time and of course the missing 2 were 1 front and 1 rear. They did show up 3days after the first 2 but only after many frantic phone calls from me and the shipper. (these are your new rims Brad).

Maybe I should get you to throw them on the gray hound COD (no Idea of cost)

I am not in a hurry of course, I just don't want them to be in your way.

I am not sure when Deb and I are heading to Edmonton again (5 hr trip 1 way)

Which vendors are willing to send parts via USPS, Brad? Just curious as I imagine none of them do a lot of business with them, and thus, don't have items regularly picked up from their locations by USPS trucks. I would think that would force them to physically take packages down to their nearest post office.

The bill above was from 928ms.
Roger is really good and warns me when it is to heavy for the post office, like the rotors that he sent. they cost me about $110 extra for 4 rotors

Just got my parts from 928 intl. A 12lbs package cost 55$ to ship to Ottawa.Taxes were another 58$.

I second that request. I've had many parts shipped from the States to Canada over the years and the UPS fee is always outrageous and the USPS-Canada Post not.

I have enjoyed shipments by USPS then Canada Post with the only downfall being the tracking black hole between the 2 snail mail companies.

Canada Post is usually the best way to ship cross-border. Since I'm only 45 minutes from the US border, I use a forwarding company to receive and hold my merchandise until I can cross over and retrieve it myself. This way, I save expensive brokerage fees as their handling fee for small parcels is only $3. Get yourself a Nexus or CanPass card and you simply fill out the value and drop the form in the border blue box when crossing. No waiting,no fuss.
