Not sure where to ask this question so shall start here.

Can we not include the write ups by Dwayne as posted on Rennlist and Dwaynes Garage on our Technical forums?

They have fantatstic step by step intruction with relevant pictorial description.

We are working on that now. Really want to get links to his garage at the very least but I'd love to see the full write ups here as well as PDF files for download too!

I had emailed Dwayne a while back, but didn't get a response, and I didn't follow up any further. They key issue to me, is that we want his permission, ideally to store backup copies as well, even if off the 'net.

His documentation is very well done :cool:

Yes it is hence the discussion.

I believe Bill Ball manages Dwaynes Garage as Dwayne is very busy with work and his 6 or 7 928s. You may want to reach out to Bill to nudge Dwayne.

I have mentioned it to Dwayne a couple of times and he indicated that he is good with that and would love to help out. I think time is an issue so getting him and Bill to just say yes might result in our ability to migrate his stuff over easily and/or get some pdf or other copies of it from Bill... I'll shoot another email to Dwayne over on RL tomorrow and put your email address in there Stan so he can say yes to you and then you can go to Bill if needed.

Between that and the roadside assistance program and the T-shirts and goodies a 928OC membership is a SUPER VALUE NOW!

Yes, building the resources to align with our mission statement is our focus, and all these developments are good.

Don't forget that we sponsor a dozen or so events a year as well, this encourages 928 owners to meet (there is solace in meeting others with the same affliction). Many events include tech sessions, as with the upcoming GA event

Certainly someone can just set up technical forum topics to link to each of those topics if they want, without permission, but copying them is a different scenario

I agree we should have at least a note from Dwayne saying it is ok and that he will allow that. Then I'll leave it up to Stan and Bill to figure out the best way to have that info on hand! What we don't want to see is the complete loss of data as happened to 928s4vr at one point. Thankfully much of it was saved, but not all of it.

Stan.........I do understand your position although in these days of immediate information availability waiting is becoming a lost art.

Hopefully if anyone requires one of Dwaynes write ups they can source elsewhere while we collectively expedite permitted access.

Excellent Brad and this is my 30th post............I've graduated

I updated the first post in this thread with the link to the website as well, for those who happen upon this.

Sent an email to Dwayne alerting him to this discussion here and asked him to email Bill Ball and Stan so they will both know he is good with it (or conversely to email me he is NOT good with it and we will stop the threads dead) so they will both know and then be able to move stuff over here as is convenient and easy to do.

I think it is a good idea to have this data in a couple of places!

Just an update, I received 25 write-ups from Dwayne on DVD in word format. I have saved them all as pdfs, and am intending to get them uploaded and available soon, perhaps this upcoming weekend.

Once my initial layout is complete, I think Brad will be moving forward as moderator of that forum.

I think when I need something done to my car I am just going to ship it to Dwayne and let him do it for me and document every step along the way!
