I was service manager for a Porsche, Audi, Mercedes dealership when the 928 came out. I was friends with the regional service manager who had a territory covering several states. He called me up one day saying he had a car he wanted me to drive but wouldn’t tell me what it was. He showed up with a Minerva Blue 928 with Pasha interior. It was the most beautiful car I had ever seen and we went for a long ride. It was a pre-production car with no VIN. That was in 1977 and I decided then and there that I would someday own a 928. I ordered a 928 GTS in 1994 but the dealer bungled the order until it was too late to get it in the pipeline. Here we are 44 years later finally fulfilling that promise. This car was purchased August 28, 2021, my 14th Porsche. It is an all original, numbers matching 1987 928 S4 with only 51K miles on it. It has the rare sport seats with “Porsche” cloth inlays, a 5-speed gearbox, and sunroof. Nice car.
