Interior is in!

Finally after looking around for someone good to put in teh Robert Bud interior I scored over a year ago,,,,,it is finally in! Here are some pics. The only problem is that there are a few pieces left over. Either he did not feel comfortable doing them or they did not fit. Mainly because this leather was ordered for another car (only a year or so off as I recall). For example it looks like it had a rear A/C because what came looked nothing like what I had. No big deal really. As luck would have it, the original owner ordered a leather rear console!!! HA And it is in good shape. Might do a few small things later, but the vast majority, including all dash and Pod crack are fixed... Yea. This included all new carpet, front and rear, but not the headliner or rear qtr panels.

It will be at the Frenzy on Oct 6th, so feel free to take a look. He does good work and is here in central Va. He was easy to work with and very competent, but he did not really enjoy the work that much. In fact he said "I will never do another 928". HA - but maybe now that he has the experience....I just smiled and said,,yeah they are kind of "special" that way

Wow! that looks sweet Michael. Nothing like a new interior to make it smell like a new car again. You must me very pleased

That does look pretty damn good! I'm hoping to convert my car over to Black/Cork with Paul doing all the recovering! Gonna be a LOOONG expensive process!

Brad, I have been entirely remiss...as I have as yet not posted the promised picture of the 'rug' you 'paid forward' to me. Here it is...

And while in Toronto I managed to find a most excellent match to the blue leather at Leather & Sewing Supply Depot (7 Vanauley St, Toronto, ON M5T 2V9 416-913-4868) and will scrape the dash clean and affix the new material.

I also traveled to Ottawa to get some leather dye in order to dye the seats to match. They are presently a camel colour. Sadly, this is 'on deck' as I take advantage of summer weather to complete my many 924s projects.

Thanks for the comments....he also put got rid of any old nasty backing or underlayment etc. and added a layer of Jute under the rear deck and back seats. It is quieter in general now inside as well because of all of this.

Yeah my wife did not like riding in it due to the "musty" smell.... HA. Now that is all gone.

Very nice looking. Im in the process of getting mine done. i should have my seats ready tonight. will be doing the dashboard in the coming weeks. im quite excited about the prospect.

It was never an issue. I didn't use it and i hope you get to for a while.
